Best of luck and have fun, Lynn. That’s one of the things we didn’t get a chance to do when we were living on Maui. Hubby did a bit of shore fishing and some spear fishing when he went on night dives, but we didn’t get any deep sea diving in. It’ll be on the list when we get the chance to move back.

Thanks for the good wishes, Cyn and Susan. But, we got skunked. One bite all day, and no fish. Still, it was a beautiful trip, and as one of our friends jokingly said, it’s the safest way to see Wai’anae. 🙂 (That’s the leeward coast of Oahu, and it’s home to about 3000 homeless camped on the beaches as well as the epicenter of Oahu’s crystal ice problem.)
My Dramamine worked like a charm, though I had my doubts at first. The waves were probably 5 to 8 ft, and it was a little much for me at first. Then we got smooth-glass seas, and a leisurely troll along the coast. One bite, but he got away. Then some choppy waves on the way back.
I was exhausted, but it was seriously fun. I don’t regret it at all.

Reading has always been the best part of fishing for me. 🙂

I took a book, Terry! But let’s put it this way: taking my eyes off the horizon was not an option. 🙂 It saved my stomach, believe me. 🙂

I used to go deep sea fishing in Panama… 🙂 I never had to use Dramamine… loved it. I had those deep sea legs.
And then, after WG, I have nausea all the time… go figure. Vertigo even on dry land. LOL

No wonder you joined the Navy. 🙂 It takes me a long time to get sea legs. Once I get them, it takes me a while to get rid of them. When I came back from the island cruise this spring, I felt like I was still on that ship for a couple of weeks. But, I did not take Dramamine at all on that tour. I figured I’d better on the smaller boat. 🙂
