I love this video primarily because it features a well-known actor doing something you'd have never pictured him doing. Reminds me that we ought to keep in mind that our characters should never be predictable either. π

This is so cute! Walken is always good for a laugh. I love him every time he hosts SNL. I especially like when he plays The Continental. Sooo funny! π
Walken knows how to do the best horror character. π Cyn
It should just remind you that everyone has layers.
Even me…
This is exactly what I’ve been reminding myself in my current WIP! What would you never expect your hero/heroine to do? Under what circumstances would they do that? Go for it!
Too funny! Who knew Chris could dance???
Tanya, you’re right about the Continental! ROFL!
Cyn: I know he can, but I’m a wimp! I can’t watch those horror movies. π
PC: Oh yes, layers! Makes me think of Shrek — Donkeys have layers. Like parfait. π You’re right, looking at this as layers is perfect.
Jen, that’s a good question. Under what circumstances would a character do what you’d never expect? Hmm, I have to remember to ask myself this in every WIP!
Rhonda, it’s hilarious isn’t it? π Apparently, he trained as a dancer in musical theater first before moving on to film. I just love this video. π As far as I’ve read, Walken did everything except the cartwheel (and maybe jumping off the table).
He also does a parody on SNL of his Steven King film, The Dead Zone. I especially like him in the movie Pulp Fiction where he played that army guy who hid a watch up his butt so he could deliver it for a dying friend. It was hilarious.
I noticed that if you watch this video all the way through, then all these other video choices pop up at the bottom and will play right here in the blog. There is a compilation of clips from SNL, and there’s one from some movie where he sings Tom Jones’s Delilah. Hilarious.
I never saw Pulp Fiction. I was told it would be too violent and graphic for me. I can be a bit of a wimp. π
