Okay, I'm a sucker for book lists. This one is by TIME and purports to be the best 100 books published in English since 1923. I've only read 22 of them. I feel like such an underachiever. 😉

Oh holy hand grenade of Antioch! Simply can not leave a post w/out screwing up the endeavor. Anyway, thought about you the other day. Got an interesting library book called “Adaptations From Short Story to Big Screen 35 Great Stories that have Inspired Great Films.” You mentioned the importance of reading romance if one wants to write romance (fiction, etc.). LOL about Da Vinci Code. I give those fans copies of Sharon Newman’s entertaining “The Real History Behind the Da Vinci Code.” You’d like her; she’s a medieval scholar who’s also won awards for historical novels. My favorite Waikiki hotel is Halekulani. The oldest hotel is the Sheraton Moana Surfrider (just the Moana part), and I believe the “Pink Lady”-Royal Hawaiian was the second of any import. Did you hate The Royal Tennenbaums and Basquait (sp)? I haven’t received any reports. I know they’re quirky, but thought you might get a kick out of them. E-mail me when you have time. I know you’re busy. Hope you aren’t covered in kitten scratches.!
Dear CS:
I’m so glad to see you! Wondered what you’d been up to, and wasn’t sure about your dates of absence in the hinterland. I have linked to your blog, and enjoyed both posts. 🙂 I shall tell you more in a soon-to-be-written email about the movies. We loved Tenenbaums to pieces. Basquiat was also quirky and good, though not as goofy fun as Tenenbaums. It did make me want to become a modern artist, however. I am honing my talent now, thinking about all the ways in which I will arrange coffee grounds upon a canvas and then splash it with paint.
