What did I realize? I'm ineligible for the Golden Heart! Being a finalist last year was amazing, but now I'll never have a chance to win. Ah well. 🙂 I'll cheer my friends instead!

    Lynn,

    You may not be eligible to enter the Golden Heart, but you have the better prize: a contract! A new necklace would be nice, but I don’t think it could possibly compare with seeing your name on the cover of your “firstborn.”

    And console yourself with this. Once your book is out, you can enter the RITA.

    See, that’s good for people like me, though. A lot of the finalists from last year have sold and are ineligible now, so a huge chunk of my competition has vanished… 🙂

    I think you have lots and lots of good things in your future. As Keli said, the necklace would be nice, but a shiny Rita would be better. Can’t wait for all the events to come — seeing your cover, seeing you holding your book, reading your book. This is just the beginning!
